    What is Guerrilla Marketing?

The word Guerrilla marketing seems to be very intense; something that is related to warfare and brings gory images of rebellion to our minds. Doesn’t it?

Guerrilla marketing is a marketing tactic in which a company uses unconventional methods to promote a product or service. It involves low- or no-cost and at the same time, it involves widespread use of more personal interactions or viral social media buzz.
“Guerrilla marketing do not rely on the brute force of an outsized marketing budget. Instead, they rely on the brute force of imagination”, said Jay Levinson.
For example, Red Bull strategically used this form of marketing by placing empty cans in crowded public areas to create the impression that the brand was popular. They increased the visibility of their brand, given the high pedestrian traffic, this was an ingenious way to get free advertising and gain notoriety. They even targeted specific groups of people by leaving cans on college campuses, stadiums, or nightclubs.
Similarly, Street Art never fails to arrest and hold viewers’ attention. Folgers’ marketing team made the most creative optical illusion of street art by creating an illusion of a hot brewing coffee mug on a street. You will be amazed to know that it was drawn over a steaming manhole.
Hence, guerrilla marketing is an interesting and creative way to interact with your target audience.
